8, Free discussion – Traditional Vs. Modern
Jim Binkley’s comment regarding the discussion of traditional vs. modern: One of the things I love about traditional guqin pieces is that they can have a rich Chinese cultural background with Daoism at the fore or in some cases allusions to Chinese poetry and painting (gaoshan liushui, lisao, chu ge, many examples). I studied classical guitar for many years and one of the reasons I gave it up was that western classical music seemed pale in comparison.
